God lead Julie into a new career direction and she followed His guidance. This led her to to a children’s orphanage in Southern Thailand called Baan Santisuk. Julie went on a short-term missions trip to the Baan Santisuk Children's Home and while serving there she experienced confirmation of her call.
Baan Santisuk is a children’s home located in the province of Phang Nga, Thailand. Baan Santisuk is a “family style” children’s home which means each of the homes function like a family within a Christian environment. The workers at Baan Santisuk teach the children daily life skills, character building, and their importance and value. They workers also care for each child's physical and emotional health and most importantly their spiritual health by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with each child.
Julie's ministry opportunities at Baan Santisuk include childcare, maintaining the children's daily schedule, teaching English, and most important sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the children. Baan Santisuk also extends the love of Jesus to the community through community outreach projects.
Julie was raised in a Christian home. During this time, the importance and value of being involved in church activities was instilled. This was the beginning of a foundation being laid for her Christian walk with the Lord. This has implanted in Julie a passion for children’s ministry and the importance to disciple children and help build in them a foundation in Jesus Christ.
Julie graduated from University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN with an Associate’s Degree in Science. She was in the medical field prior to becoming a missionary.
