Praise! A secure Regional Strategy Coordinator states, “Our ministry network in South East Asia shared the gospel with more than 1,000 unreached people around Christmas time and our partners are following up with those who desire to know more about Christ.”
Bruce and Dawn Cluckie request prayer for Sayon 2. He is a community leader in Yatiya and a key leader of the Yalunka churches in Guinea. Sayone 2 is educated and ambitious with many projects going on. Pray for wisdom and success in his endeavors.
Josh Hawkins requests prayer for Vas, that God would continue to work in his heart, and that Vas would keep asking Josh questions. Pray also for Josh and Sarah as they watch Lyucho and Pauline’s children as they go out for their first date night without the children in eight years. Pray for the family as they provide this act of service for another family.
Congratulations to Janet Nickel who has been a resident of and ministering in Sierra Leone for thirty years now! Janet requests prayer for her ministry and that she would be able to focus on the things that will have long-term eternal value. Janet reports, “There are a couple of highlights which I want to share with you. Today I went with many other interested parties to the High Court of Sierra Leone to observe the sentencing of two traffickers. They were convicted on Thursday the 6th February of 30 counts related to trafficking in persons and money laundering. Today the sentencing gave the first accused 20 years imprisonment and the second accused 8 years imprisonment. They attempted to traffic nine young Sierra Leonean women into Liberia and onwards to Oman, Iraq and European countries but were intercepted at the Sierra Leone/Liberia border.
These nine victims have been in our Recovery Center since they were intercepted. It was bittersweet today because everyone is happy that there was conviction, but there is big disappointment because the victims were not awarded any restitution. Also, these two are not the masterminds of the network, but low-level agents. We think that efforts will continue to be made to get the individuals higher up in the network. Pray for that and for these survivors who will now be trying to go back to “normal” life with the challenges that entails.”
Nat Brown has damage which may require a partial knee replacement, but a scope will be done first to see if that will help instead. This is scheduled for February 28. Pray for Nat as he is in pain as he awaits the procedure.
Sarah Hawkins request prayer that God would grant her wisdom while she is trying to decide whether to pursue starting a Bible study with another mother who attends Sarah’s story time. The mother is a Christian and would like to start a Bible study with Sarah’s help for young mothers in their neighborhood.
Prayer Request From A Staff Member As He Meets Weekly With An Individual
Pray for a Staff Member as he meets weekly with another individual to discuss marriage, principles, and family. The staff member requests prayer that the conversations would lead towards Christ. Pray also for the staff member and his family as a possible visa opportunity has arisen for them. This is in its early stage, but if they can use this opportunity it will answer questions they have.
Pete and Ursula Hubley requests prayer for Danny who is leading the Inductive Bible Study this Wednesday evening. The Hubleys will be there to help him if needed, but he will be in charge. Pete and Ursula also request prayer for Vasko and Ivena as they are new to reading and understanding the Bible and have many questions.
