Praying for Breakthrough
France: Pray for a missionary who is ministering amid major upheaval, social demonstrations, riots, and looting. Pray for gospel opportunities to proclaim Jesus and his Kingdom.
Malawi: Pray for a Missions Lab experiment between US and Malawian disciple-makers to help equip one another for more mission. Ask Jesus to show the group how he wants to foster a cultur of mutual learning and relationship under the direction of the Holy Spirit through this time. Pray for uncomplicated travel for all those involved in-country and to and from Malawi.
Nepal: Continue to pray for courageous WP partners who are responding to the communities most affected by the devasting floods in Nepal. Pray for their joy and stamina as they minister to churches who have lost many members.
Nigeria: Thank the Lord for a fruitful gathering of the West African disciple-makers network in Nigeria. Many were encouraged as they minister amid violent instability. Pray for courage and boldness to advance the gospel in those areas.
Guinea: The Missionary Church of Nigeria is looking to send a couple to encourage and build into the church WP missionaries established among the Yalunka people there. Thank the Lord for this initiative by the Nigerians and ask the Lord to achieve this for his glory among the Yalunka people in Guinea.
Various: Pray for especially sensitive hearts among our WP workers to discern in whom and how the Spirit is working in their relationships. Pray for spiritual breakthrough as our missionaries witness to those with whom the Lord is bringing them into contact.

Good News
From Jeremy and Mindie at Bethel University:
We just finished our big push to get to the Global Engagement Chapel on Oct 5. We are thanking the Lord for the enthusiasm the students have regarding the World Partners/Bethel U overseas mission trips for this coming year. Be praying the enthusiasm results in commitments, and that the Lord will use these trips to open their hearts to global missions service.

From Refugees to Missionaries
Ed Kim never expected to work with Ukrainian refugees.
As a veteran World Partners missionary, his calling was to Israel. However, after a series of
events, the Lord led him to Germany, presumably to share his faith with the Jewish community there.
One day, however, a friend in Israel called Ed and asked for a favor. A Jewish Ukrainian family fleeing the war needed help settling in Germany, near where Ed and Hia were living. They responded to the need and found the reason for their calling to Germany.
The Lord showed Ed that he was turning Ukrainian refugees into missionaries to Europe. The six million Ukrainians leaving Ukraine were not so much fleeing as being sent. Since many of them are believers, Ed began to see and seize the larger vision.
Over the last two years, he has invested in individuals and networks to fulfill his role in making this vision a reality. Early in the war, Ed sensed that it would not end soon or easily. He encouraged refugees to focus on their new life in Germany. Despite the many desperate stories of loss and heartbreak due to destroyed hometowns and family homes, many have begun to embrace the missionary calling over the refugee life.
Recently, Ed gathered 80 Ukrainian believers to discern God's will for their missionary calling. The time together provided encouragement and preparation. Most importantly, however, it provided a sense of purpose and belonging as foreigners in a foreign land.
Pray for Ed and Hia Kim as they give themselves to this work of seeing refugees become missionaries to Germany with them.
Pray also for the Ukrainian believers who are joining this missionary force. Pray for healing from past war trauma even as they embrace a new missional life in Germany.
When a person loses everything that had been gained through hard worked, a certain hunger emerges for storing up treasures that moths and rust cannot destroy. Such a hunger is core to loving like Jesus and living like a missionary.

Pete and Ursula Hubley

Since 2000, Peter and Ursula have been making disciples through intentional, relational ministry. After serving nine years in Bulgaria, they followed God’s leading to Sombor, Serbia, where they continue their work with World Partners. What began as lay leadership in their local church in Michigan has grown into a long-term calling to disciple-making in Eastern Europe.
Our Mission
The Hubleys live this out through hospitality, board game nights, shared meals, sports, crafts, and simply being present where people naturally gather. In cultures shaped by generations of communism—where trust is slow and relationships take time—they believe the gospel shines brightest through a faithful presence and love lived out day by day.
How You Can Join Them
They cannot do this alone. Your partnership makes this ministry possible.
